Lead time instead of an import wait
Domestic supply takes the letter of credit, the customs paperwork and the months of waiting out of the chain.
Plant under construction, commissioning early 2028
Bavan started from a plain need: Iranian food manufacturing depends on imported modified starch, and waits a long time for the grades it requires.
In August 2026 we bought the plant site in Aliabad-e Katul. The equipment was sourced from China and Türkiye, but the process design, layout, assembly and automation were carried out by our own team, without depending on a foreign licensor’s know-how. The line is fully automated: sensors, pressure transmitters and control equipment sit in one integrated system that monitors and controls the process.
Construction status
This render is the final design, not a photograph of today. Select a station to see its role in the route.

Raw material store
Base starch enters through the gate and is held here, separate from the finished goods store.
Refinery
The largest area in the design. Vessels and equipment that prepare and refine the starch slurry before it reaches the reaction stage.
Process and reaction
Modification and neutralisation. What separates the five grades is made in exactly this area, through the choice of reagent and the control of temperature, pH and residence time.
Packing
Dried and milled product is bagged and marked with its batch number. The same number appears on the certificate of analysis.
Finished goods store
Packed product is held here until dispatch.
Loading and dispatch
A shipment leaves the dock with its batch number and the certificate of analysis for that batch.
Utilities
Utility room, boiler, compressor, electrical room and chiller. Steam, compressed air and process chilled water come from here.
Administration
Offices and management, outside the production area so that office traffic never crosses the line.
Production model
We buy base starch (corn, wheat or potato) from suppliers and modify it in our own plant. We have no wet milling and we do not start from the grain.
We say so plainly because it has a direct consequence for the buyer: our cost base tracks the price of base starch. A professional buyer knows this already and would rather hear it from the supplier.
Domestic supply takes the letter of credit, the customs paperwork and the months of waiting out of the chain.
For a plant consuming a few tonnes a month, a full container means tied-up cash and warehouse risk.
A rial contract with a domestic supplier keeps exchange-rate swings out of your cost calculation.
The line
Bavan's modification line was engineered in Iran. The process design, equipment layout and control logic are our own work, not built on a foreign licensor's package.
That was a choice rather than a constraint. A licensed line arrives with fixed parameters, and moving them to hit a particular customer’s grade is either not permitted or costs more than the line did. When the design is yours, you can shift the process window for a specific formulation.
Process control. The line is designed for automated operation. Temperature, pressure, pH and residence time are instrumented, logged and retained per batch, so that when a customer reorders a grade, it is reproduced from data rather than from an operator’s memory.

Team
Bavan is a team of around twenty: production, engineering, laboratory and administration. The technical core has more than ten years in formulation and in flour and food manufacturing plants.
That is the experience that recognises how a grade behaves on a real line, not only on paper. The gap between knowing a formulation and producing it consistently is closed on the line, not in the lab.
